Healthy Grocery Shopping …

Weight loss may be easy for some, but for me, not so much. I have to work, and work hard at it and continue to work hard at it even after I’ve succeeded.

One of the major problems I have is grocery shopping, I’m the one who does the shopping for the entire house, and although we mostly have healthy choices, there’s those little temptations everywhere, and I think oh I’ll get that for the girls, they’d like it. Then it’s in the house and tempting me nonstop. Then you have all the ‘healthy’ quick and easy meals, which really if you look (and take the time to look which I need to learn to do more) aren’t’ all that healthy at all. Sometimes finding healthy, good for you foods is just as hard as trying to do a Human Resources job search. High in sodium, low in calories but high in fats or carbs, I know making your own food with fresh ingredients is best, but let’s face it. I’m not a cook!

I really need to start trying out my hand at cooking more, with more fresh ingredients, but I do find when on a budget eating healthy isn’t all that easy most of the time. I shop at a local market for my fruits/veggies but at Walmart for everything else. Even with coupons in hand, feeding a family of 4 cooking every night, using fresh and healthy ingredients gets EXPENSIVE! Not to mention that my girls do eat pretty healthy, but a lot of the new recipes I like/want to try, they wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot poll, which means two meals to cook.

Sometimes this new healthy lifestyle change gets annoying, but in the long run, it’s worth it. Right?

I’d also like to give a shout out to Lisa Marie Varon otherwise known as Tara from TNA Wrestling. I wrote a post yesterday telling you guys she’s my motivation and inspiration, and I really mean that. She actually took the time out to send me a few emails back and forth via Facebook yesterday and gave me some great advice about diet and exercise which I’m going to follow. One of the hardest things she told me to do, eat veggies and high protein foods every 3 hours.

Every 3 Hours?!?!?!

That’s A Lot of food for me… But hey, if it works and really it’s only small amounts of veggies/high protein’s I think I can do it…. No make that I KNOW and I WILL do it!
