So I’ve had my Total Gym just a few weeks now, and I can tell you, it’s totally kicking my butt!!
I’ve been sticking with the 6-8 minute workout video that came with it until I get myself totally comfortable using it, but I’ve been stacking them. So instead of doing Day 1 only I’ll normally do Day 1, 2 and 3 and then the next day do Day 3, 4, 5 and continue on like that.
Just recently I tried out the Ab Crunch Accessory and the video that came with it as well. HOLY COW! I can’t even get through the 9 minute video, it’s super hard, but the next day, my abs were HURTING, you know that good hurt that you get after you’ve had a good workout?! Yup! So I’ve been adding it to my daily routine!
The only ones that use the Total Gym XLS are my hubby and myself. I use it on a more consistent daily basis than he does. I asked him the other night, how he likes it and he told me he’s not quite sure yet, so we’ll see within the next few weeks if it grows on him or not.
What I love is that I haven’t really had any use for the machines at the gym. I get every workout I do at the gym at home now all in one machine! I work my arms, legs, abs, back, shoulders etc all on one machine with easy switch outs of each accessory like the Wing Bar, Leg Pulley, Squat Stand and Toe Bar. At first I found it a little difficult to keep up switching accessories, but as you do it more and more you get more accustomed to it and the quicker you get as well.
By far, my favorite exercise on the Total Gym XLS would be using the Wing Bar attachment at the top of the gym, and then putting my legs through and doing crunches, at first I didn’t think I’d be able to do them but I’ve gotten better as the days are moving on, and you can really feel it! My other favorite is leg exercises with the leg pulley. You put these cuffs on your feet and attach the leg pulley and work out one leg at a time by putting your leg in the air and pulling down, it’s one of the greatest stretches for your legs, I just love it!
This week I’ll be taking my measurements for the first time, which I probably should have done before I started any of this but yep, I’m a slacker…..
