I’m Failing As A Total Mom….


This month has been crazy! July has flown by so fast, and I have stuck myself in the mud it seems at a standstill….

My diet has been shot to hell and so has my workout routine… I swear the summer months are 10x worse than the holidays to diet and loose weight.

Being on vacation screwed me up!! But does that mean I give up and forget it? Of course not!! When I got back home I swore up and down that I’d be back on track with my stuff… I headed downstairs and glared at my Total Gym, and glared, and glared, and glared…. I didn’t get on it at all… FAILURE!!!

It’s not for lack of trying! I mean I love this thing, it makes you feel great while you’re on it, after your on it, I’ve gotten that great ‘hurt’ you get after a great workout. The workouts are quick so it’s not like I don’t have the time, or can’t find the time. If I can dedicate at the very least 10 minutes of my day to it, I can get it done!

When using the gym, I see a huge change, in my attitude in my confidence and even in my clothing. There has been changes, have I measured like I said I would.. Um no… I’m going to get on that though, and even when the Total Mom Challenge ends, I’m going to keep up the updates.

So, this week marks my ‘get back on track’ week… Diet will be good, exercise will be great! I do really love the Total Gym, my favorite exercise, is using the leg pull, it gives a great stretch and when I have my gym pulled up to a higher level, a great workout! There are a few downfalls to this exercise though and maybe to the gym as a whole, let’s see, I’ve crushed my fingers and had my hair caught multiple times on the pully. If you have long hair, make SURE that it’s tied back and not dangling off of the bench! It will get caught up!

The one thing I’m hoping to try out is the Pilates DVD, but unfortunately the DVD that they provided to me with my Total Gym isn’t in working order, so hopefully I can get that rectified and let you all know how the Pilates works out on the gym.

Another favorite is the Ab Crunch accessory. O.M.G. it’s a HARD workout! It may look easy at first, but wow… I can only do about 3 or 4 of the exercises they tell me to do on the video with it before I’m sweating like a pig and cursing the instructor, but my gosh you can feel it the next day, and when you feel it you know it’s working!

So my goal today, day 1 of my ‘back on track’ week is to eat properly, I’m thinking I’ll have one of my favorites, some of my Tomato and Cucumber Salad tonight for dinner (Yum) and jump back on that horse and get on the Total Gym, I also need to get back to my gym outside of the house as well and work on that cardio, WISH ME LUCK!! Hopefully next week I’ll come back with some numbers and changes for you all!

    Weight loss can be very challenging. I know when I have dieted in the past and failed, I would easily give up. You got to remember if you mess up on the diet, just try to get back on track and not give up completely.

    Good luck!! I’ll keep an eye out for your updates. I’m trying to lose 10lbs. I just can’t seem to stick with a workout and diet plan. The last pounds are always the hardest to lose!
