Ugh, it’s been a long week. The first real week of back to school for both of my girls.
I admit, my youngest (and last child) heading off to kindergarten was bittersweet. I was happy for her to go, but sad at the same time. What was I going to do all day, on my own, no child with me. Ahh!! She was so excited and I had the support of not only my husband but my mother and best friend.
Yup, it wasn’t the kids that needed support the first day of school, it was Mama!
So now that it’s been a first full week, I’ve been good, I’ve been finding things to do on my own and taking time for MYSELF for the first time in almost 8 years. It’s crazy and an adjustment. Besides going to the gym everyday, I’ve also refound my love of coffee!
To save myself some money though, instead of heading to my favorite coffee shop daily I’ve been re-introducing it to myself at home with my own coffee maker. However, it’s just not hitting the spot, so in all honesty, I’ve been thinking of splurging a bit for myself and going back to a traditional coffee maker and an additional espresso machine.
Yes, 2 machines sounds crazy to some but I just can’t beat the fun it is making my drinks at home myself, and the taste that comes with it! Far better than my current 1 stop shop machine that does it all, don’t get me wrong I love it when I need a quick fix, but on days I can relax alone, a perfectly made latte just hits the spot!
Belive it or not, I find making my own cup of coffee relaxing, I feel more ‘rushed’ going out to the coffee shop, and trust me, even if you’ve never made your own espresso, latte, or white mocha it’s super easy to learn, and you’ll totally taste the difference and see why it’s worth brewing at home.
