Oral care is an issue in our house. Especially with my oldest daughter. I personally hate dentists, my teeth are horrible I know, at no fault of my own, but I vowed not to let my own kids have the same fear as myself, so I’ve always made sure to teach them great oral care habits. But, my 8 year old just doesn’t want to listen to me, or my husband.
At the age of 8, she’s just had to get 2 cavities filled, and she has another forming. We make her brush twice a day, sometimes three (if I remember to pack her toothbrush into her lunch for school). I admit, we haven’t been strict about flossing, but she’s learning now and realizing how important it is.
It was great timing when I was asked to participate in the Listerine Oral Challenge, I thought this would be perfect for my oldest daughter, and the rest of the family. For the next 3 weeks, we’re all to use Listerine products. Brush, Floss and Rinse with all of their products for the next three weeks and see how it helps our oral care as a family.
As you can see, my youngest daughter has great teeth….
My oldest, not so much, plus she needs some orthodontist work done as well, ugh…
The girls are excited to start the challenge, with their new toothbrushes, floss, and rinse just for them, and then for myself and hubby we have the same.
Hopefully this challenge will improve some of our habits. We’ve also now got a chart for the girls thanks to Listerine, so they can check everyday to make sure that they brush, floss and rinse. It will be interesting to see if habits change in three weeks, and if they’ve made an improvement as well.
