How time flies, today is my youngest daughters birthday. She’s 7. I keep seeing her as a baby, as a young child, I can’t believe she’s growing up before my eyes.
Yesterday she had her 7 year check up, they weigh her, check her height, and I was floored. I mean I know she’s tall, and I know I’m short (yea I’m only 5’0”) but to hear “She’s four foot two” nearly blew me away! It won’t be long before she’s towering over me too! Heck my 9 year old is almost there….
So, for her birthday, we didn’t do much of anything special, she didn’t ask for much, and she’s always happy with what she does get. The one thing she has asked for though is to have her nails done. She wants to go with mommy (me) to the nail salon and get a manicure and pedicure done. I’m more than happy to take her!!! However, my budget right now isn’t so happy to do that for the both of us, so she understands it’s going to have to wait until the next pay check, but in the mean time, that doesn’t mean I can’t give her one at home!
For her birthday she got a bunch of nail art and polishes, so I’m going to make good use this weekend and give her her very own mani/pedi at home. I’ve been searching Pinterest and a lot of other sites to find something ‘cool’ yet simple enough for me to do on my own for her nails. Animal print, flowers, different gradients. Lots of stuff is out there!!
I found something fairly simple for me to do and will look good on her small nails as well, using matte nail polish and transitioning colors, fairly easy for me to do, if your interested in learning how to do this type of nail as well you can read the full article that i found at wikitalks.com here.
So our night is done, she’s tucked into bed, and I’ll be making sure I’ve got all the products for a great at home mani/pedi with my daughter this weekend!
Happy 7th Birthday Boogie!!!!
