When families with children take a spring trip, they usually have to choose between the two main school breaks during that season – Easter break and a spring break. The choice a family makes can affect how much their travel will cost, and whether or not they will be able to find cheap vacation spots Many people automatically think college kids and crowds when they think about traveling during spring break, and decide that the Easter break would be better for a trip. However, travel is often more expensive on holidays, as are lodgings.
Spring break, on the other hand, is big business for certain regions, drawing college students and all sorts of people. There’s a lot of competition for the tourist dollar. Many places offer plenty of special deals, hoping to lure tourists and travelers. However, even the areas famed for their wild spring break tourist scene have plenty for people that are looking for a more traditional sort of getaway to enjoy. In fact, some of Florida’s most notorious spring break hot spots are trying to revamp their image, in hopes of attracting more families and are making special efforts to make them feel welcome.
The savvy traveler can make the most of the spring break specials and bargains to plan an excellent vacation experience that is quite cost effective. Vacationing during spring break doesn’t automatically mean having to deal with crowds, either. There are nice places within a comfortable drive of major destinations and attractions that make it easy to enjoy all that an area has to offer and, when the day is done, spend the night outside of the hustle and bustle, in a more family friendly environment.
Traveling to places not on the spring break radar is another way to save money during spring break. Not everybody is drawn to the classic fun in the sun beach vacation. There are many wonderful places to visit that are in the midst of their off-season during spring break, which can mean deep discounts for visitors. It is different when traveling on a holiday. There’s not really an off season for travel during major holidays because families traditionally want to be together on holidays and will travel pretty much whatever the weather is. Airlines, trains, buses, hotels, and motels know this, and often price accordingly.
Choosing between spring break or Easter for a family trip is best done by running the numbers. In many cases, spring break travel is the better choice, especially when it comes to finding great opportunities to enjoy cheap vacation spots. Travel is pretty much a given on holidays, those serving in the travel industry don’t have to make a lot of extra effort, because people are going to travel anyway. During spring break, however, there’s a lot more competition, because people don’t have to choose a particular region. Thus, the travel industry is more inclined to earn their vacationers by offering better deals. Spring break travel can offer great value for the vacation dollar.
