Riding bikes when you’re a kid is one thing that signifies spring is here. After being cooped up all winter in the house, the snow melts and the sidewalks and roads are clear, out comes the helmets and bikes. I admit we’re not really bike riders around here. My 7 year old is still on training wheels, and my 9 year old just learned last year how to ride a bike without them. Yup, I suck!
The girls are already begging to get their bikes out, but it’s been raining so much around here, we haven’t had many sunny days to drag them out so they could ride them.
With myself looking to be more active, I’ve really thought about purchasing my own bike, but will I remember how to ride it? Or will mommy fall over when she tries to get on? It’s been years since I’ve gotten myself on a bike, I’m sure I’ll be fine, but there’s always that little fear in the back of my mind.
I have been looking at some bikes, normally through online ads, seeing what people have to offer with some used bikes, and I’ve looked at new ones as well, but what really caught my eye was the new electric bikes, have you seen these things? I mean they’re not really for me, I’m not riding long distances, but they’re super cool and I’d love to have one JUST to have one – View Latest Electric Bikes.
I remember when we were a kid, my dad had an electric bike, he’d bring it camping with us, but it wasn’t nearly as cool as the ones you can find now, in fact I think he still has it, I should drag it out and show the kids, I’m sure they’d get a kick out of it!
So…Bike rides with your kids, yay or nay? Do you do it? Do you and the kids enjoy it? I’ve often thought if anything we go on a lot of nature walks, it would be great to bring the bikes with us and try the bike trail as a family.
