Sylvania Community Arts Commission – “Shorties” shorter film challenge #Toledo

The Sylvania Community Arts Commission (SCAC) invites students in grades Kindergarten through 8th to join in the excitement of our first Tree City Film Festival, by entering the “shorties” shorter short film challenge.

Kids are encouraged to create a 3 – 5 minute short film, using the digital devices they already own and use. Students who take a chance and create this type of art, will have the opportunity to get their work shown on the big screen in a public viewing on April 12th in downtown Sylvania at a ticketed event (with paparazzi in attendance).

All accepted entries will also be judged by a panel of local celebrity judges, and participating “producers” will compete to win great prizes including an iPod touch!

If you want to be part of this fun and challenging event, please have a parent or guardian send an email of “intent” stating that a signed copy of the application form will be sent.

Once an email has been sent you can start making magic! When your movie is ready, upload it to YouTube as private and send TreeCityFilmFestival the link, or mail a copy on disk.

The deadline to submit your movie and signed release form from everyone involved in your movie as well as a signed and completed entry form is April 1st.

You can find entry forms and more information by visiting the Sylvania Community Arts Commission (SCAC) website.
