When the time comes to get in the car and head to Detroit, it’s usually for one of two reasons, either a concert, or wrestling event. On September 15th it was the latter of the two, WWE was in Detroit for not only an event, but a Pay-Per-View event, Night of Champions.
Being part of the WWEMoms, I was thrilled when WWE allowed me to not only take my entire family to Night of Champions, but also bring 34 of my friends as well! Everyone who accompanied us was so excited to go, and we brought all families with us. Moms, Dads, Kids…. All families, all having an amazing time cheering on their favorite wrestlers! If you don’t believe WWE is family friendly entertainment, you’ve never been in a packed arena with tons of families and kids around you, all enjoying each others company while having a great time.
I won’t bore you with the matches, the outcomes, by now, if you’re a wrestling fan you already know what happened. When we got to the arena we walked around outside for a bit, took photos of the trucks with all of our favorite superstars plastered all over the outside, and waited to get in. Unfortunately my ritual stalking didn’t happen, it was raining, the wrestlers were not coming outside in the rain, and my youngest daughter was bored to tears just waiting in the rain for SOMEONE to come out and say hi… BUT, even waiting in the rain, I was so stoked, I would finally be able to get the t-shirt i’ve been waiting on for MONTHS!! One of my favorite tag teams right now are the Prime Time Players especially Titus O’Neil, and I was so looking forward to taking my Zack Ryder shirt off and putting a brand spanking new Prime Time Players shirt on for the event. However, my dreams were crushed… Merchandise had no Prime Time Players shirts, what?!?! They were wrestling that night, in fact they were wrestling to be the #1 contenders for the Tag Team Championship match, but no t-shirt? My oldest daughter was hoping to get a Kofi Kingston shirt, but there wasn’t one of those either. We were both heartbroken.
So, A little note to WWE, please, carry the merchandise for those wrestlers that are actually wrestling at your event, we would love to cheer on our favorite superstars while they wrestle WITH their t-shirts on!
On that note, I’d also like to recommend that Stephanie McMahon and Triple H have a t-shirt available that says “Best For Business” because I’d sure as heck buy one.
WWE events are such a thrill, such an experience, even if you’re not a ‘hardcore’ WWE wrestling fan, take the step to go to a live event, it is so much fun in person, there’s so much fan interaction that if you were not a huge wrestling fan before you went to a live event, I BET you when you leave one, you will be!
One of the other thrills of the night besides watching the amazing matches from some great seats, was the fact that I was able to take photos with the Samsung Galaxy Camera from Verizon Wireless. Verizon loaned me the camera specifically for the WWE event. I was SO excited to try this camera out, I’ve been wanting to check it out for almost a year now, when I first heard about the camera, I was excited. I’ve always wanted a DSLR but price #1 it’s way too much for me to think about spending on a camera, and #2 I could never take my DSLR into arenas and events, they’re just not allowed.
The Samsung Galaxy Camera from Verizon Wireless allows me to take high quality photos (and videos), zoom in to the ring when I’m at a wrestling event, and all in a smaller sleeker size than a large clunky DSLR. It also comes with 4G LTE data services from Verizon, so when I take photos, I can upload directly to Facebook, Twitter and even Instagram! All of the photos in this post, all taken with the Samsung Galaxy Camera.
Sharing your photos, sharing your life, has never been easier! The Samsung Galaxy Camera is like a phone, or, rather more like a tablet the way it functions because although the screen and size of the camera is like a phone, it cannot make phone calls. So why the camera instead of just using your cell phone to take photos? Here’s the difference…..
The Samsung Galaxy Camera captures images with a 16 MP camera and a very powerful 21x optical zoom. Check out the two photos I took below. #1 is a photo from our seats, without a zoom, #2 is a fully zoomed in photo… Can your cell phone camera do that? I know mine can’t!
The amount of questions and compliments I got on my photos through the event was nuts, even strangers asked me, is that a phone or a camera? What is that? The photos your taking are amazing!! I had to take a break from photos for a few seconds to explain to the onlookers what exactly I had, and how it worked. When I was able to show them how I could instantly get on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to share them right that second, they were in awe! Not only were the photos amazing, but Verizon’s 4G LTE service worked and let me share photos instantly even when fellow fans sitting just across from me had absolutely no service on their cell phones with different carriers.
Features on the Samsung Galaxy Camera include:
– Share photos and video with friends or to social media over 4G LTE.
– 21x optical-zoom lens performs better than your average smartphone camera.
– 15 smart modes to capture the perfect photo, whether it is a person, landscape, panorama, waterfall, sunset or fireworks.
– Preserve your favorite moments in vivid detail with 16-megapixel images and 1080p HD video.

Although the camera can be a bit overwhelming at first, which I’ll admit, only having the camera for a few days I didn’t even begin to discover all the things I could do with it, Verizon Wireless helps you out with step by step directions and helps you get to know your device. With the different modes, and settings I couldn’t get around to checking them all out just in a few days. The mode I really wanted to play with was the Food mode to help me take those new recipes pics for my blog, but I didn’t get to get that far with it.
Not only are the photos this camera takes amazing, but so are the videos as well. You can take a look at Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan short video clip HERE.
I fell in love hard for the Samsung Galaxy Camera! So much so, that hubby has agreed to purchase one for me!
The camera itself retails for $549.99 and can be connected to WIFI, or added to your current Verizon Share Everything plan for just $5 a month, this way you always have access to the instant sharing and backup photo capabilities. Well worth it!!
If you have never checked out the Samsung Galaxy Camera, I suggest that you head to your nearest Verizon Wireless store and give it a look, the price is right for all of the camera you get!
If you’d like to see more of the videos and photos I ended up taking with the Samsung Galaxy Camera, feel free to view the over 600 photos I took – Night Of Champions Album.
I have been compensated for this post and participating in the WWEmoms campaign by The Online Mom – additionally I was provided with no compensation for the Galaxy Camera from Verizon – all opinions expressed here are my own.
