As you know I love anything that has to do with WWE, but it was only recently that dawned on me that their free application is partly to be blamed for the overall rise in popularity of all free apps that are currently available in Google, Amazon and the iTunes stores. In recent times, the WWE App was used to give the WWE Universe the chance to decide the opponent of another wrestler. In fact earlier this year, due to the overwhelming demand, the WWE Universe managed to bring down the entire system.
The application, which is free to download, is available to the iPad, iPhone and all devices that support Android, making the app accessible to millions of people around the world. With a three hour show every Monday on USA Network reaching a combine total of over 10 million viewers, and a few more million watching Friday Night Smackdown on SyFy, it didn’t take long to bring an entire new generation of people, both older and younger, in front of the app craze. When you also take into account that some content is available exclusively to the WWE app, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure out it will attract millions of people.
Now it has also been observed, that while the WWE Universe who attend these live events waits patiently during TV commercials, they tend to enjoy other free apps. A new obsession is a very simple word game called BingoFind: The Words, which was released by www.bingofind.com and gives everyone the chance to take a much needed breather from the heart-pounding action taking place at ringside. So next time you are at a Pay-Per-View event, like the upcoming Battleground, make sure you check to see what the guys around you are checking from their mobile application.
