I was lucky enough last week to attend another LIVE WWE event, right here in Toledo Ohio!
January 29th, WWE brought Smackdown to The Huntington Center and we were on hand for all the fun! It used to be that it would just be myself and my husband attending events and getting a sitter for the girls, but that’s no longer the case. My oldest daughter loves wrestling, my youngest daughter not so much, but she love seeing the Diva’s matches so she tags along too. Going to WWE events has become a family affair. It’s great family entertainment and all ages get excited and involved when at a live show.
Smackdown is taped for Friday broadcast, WWE Main Event is also taped. The event started at 7:00pm and we started out with a dark match (a match not televised) and then onto the Main Event matches, and then onto the Smackdown taping.
What I love about WWE events is not only the amazing Superstars, but the crowd interaction and participation. Most fans bring signs, just like I did for my favorite WWE Superstar Xavier Woods!
While your at the event, you’ll see signs for just about every Superstar, you’ll her chants, and cat calls, screams and boos. If you’re going to a WWE event for the first time, be prepared, it’s loud! Between the pyro and the fans, sometimes you can’t even hear yourself think, but it’s a great time. Even those who aren’t wrestling fans enjoy themselves after a while, live shows and the energy from them are addictive, you find yourself joining in on the fun.
My excitement for the night was when Xavier Woods came out, and pointed directly to me and my lovely sign!! The only thing that would have been better would have been getting him to sign it!
For those who are wrestling fans, you know that the biggest pay per view of the year is coming up, soon! WRESTLEMANIA!! This year, as in others, the WWE is doing a few special things, not only will you have The Hall Of Fame, WWE AXXESS and Wrestlemania, but WWE has also put forth a reading challenge for the kids!
The WrestleMania Reading Challenge is an annual online reading and writing content designed to encourage kids to read and help build a lifelong love of reading. It’s so much fun! My kids are involved already and you even get a chance to win awesome prizes like book grants for schools and libraries. You can even read the books online! We Give Books, WWE and YALSA encourage young WWE fans to take part in this Wrestlemania Reading Challenge by reading a book or writing an essay about your favorite book to earn a chance to win a trip to Wrestlemania 30 and a chance to meet a WWE Superstar!
To help celebrate the Wrestlemania Reading Challenge and hopefully get more kids involved the WWEMoms is holding a special Twitter Party!!
