Schools Out and it’s summer time, so instead of sitting around the house, hearing “I’m Bored” all day, GET OUT and enjoy the fresh air, the warm sun, and your children!
There’s so many things to do in and around the Toledo area. I’ve been trying to find multiple different things to do with the girls through the summer months, and we’ve been on some sort of adventure OUT of the house almost every day.
The newest place we discovered was a short drive (and I mean short, literally 16 minutes from my house) to Michigan. The Indian Creek Petting Zoo. My girls aren’t toddlers anymore, so we need something more than just petting goats, at 8 and 10 they want a little more adventure and as animal lovers the Indian Creek Petting Zoo was the perfect place for them. This unique walk thru zoo offers camel rides and an up close and personal look at animals such as Zebra’s, Camels, Emus, Wallabies, Lemurs, Donkeys, Horses, Goats Alpacas, Guinea Hens, Sheep, Peacocks and more!!!
We got to feed lemurs, camels, bunnies, we got to pet zebra’s, wallaby’s and take photos of peacocks and a Coatimundi. We spent a few hours there, and had so much fun. Definitely a place we will be back to, in fact, I think the next time we’re there, we will be purchasing a family membership ($50 for two adults and up to 4 children) which gives you special discounts, as well as invites to special member’s only events, and of course your unlimited admission to the petting zoo.
The Indian Creek Petting Zoo is located at 2740 Consear Road (between Secor & Douglas) in Lambertville, Michigan and can be found on Facebook as well as their upcoming website indiancreekpettingzoo.com. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children, a small basket of food is just $3 and more than enough to feed all the animals.
