WWE isn’t always about entertainment and wrestling, sometimes its about education and kids! Once again during the road to Wrestlemania, WWE and First Book have announced the 2015 Wrestlemania Reading Challenge.
This program brings kids together with literacy, and their favorite WWE Superstars to show them how important reading is.
Now through Sunday February 22, kids can register to start the Wrestlemania Reading Challenge by visiting WWEReadingSuperstar.com. There they will enter their birthday so they will be able to participate in the age appropriate challenge, once they’ve done that they will pick their WWE Superstar reading buddy. Once they’ve chosen their reading buddy, they can then start reading digital books in the appropriate age group. My daughter registered once again this year, and again chose her WWE Superstar reading buddy to be Kofi Kingston.
The Wrestlemania Reading Challenge along with their partnership with First Book’s digital reading initiative, We Give Books allows children ages 4-12 participate in reading digital books, while older kids ages 13-18 can select their favorite WWE Superstar as a pen pal, where they can read a book, and then write an essay.
“WWE is proud to partner with First Book and continue our long-standing commitment to education and literacy initiatives through the WrestleMania Reading Challenge,” said Stephanie McMahon, Chief Brand Officer, WWE. “Together, we are providing a fun and engaging experience to encourage children of all ages to read.”
Not only will your kids be able to read alongside their favorite WWE Superstar, but by registering for the WWE Wrestlemania Reading Challenge, you have a chance to win a trip for two to Wrestlemania 31 at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. You also have the chance to win books for your school or community library!
To support literacy initiatives across the Unite States, WWE not only makes a financial contribution to First Book but the WWE Superstars and Divas also host reading celebrations and visit kids and local schools and libraries to stress how important reading is.
