We’re a family of travelers. Not only do we travel through the US, but we include Canada as well. This summer we’ve done most of our traveling in Canada. One stop we made was to Horeshoe Resort in Barrie, Ontario.
Horseshoe Resort is located about an hour north of Toronto. During the summer, Horseshoe Resort provides an Adventure Park for the family, in the winter they are a ski resort.
Initially we were just spending a night there, but after being there for the day, we decided to spend an extra day/night. Horseshoe Resort was just amazing! Not only was our room great, but the Adventure Park had so many activities for those of all ages.
Activities in the Adventure Park include: Mini Putt, Rock Climbing, Balance Bikes, Gem Mining, Archery, Horseback Riding, Euro Bungee, Inflatable Obstacle Course, Paddle Boats, a Maze, Adventure Buggy Tour, Zip Lining, and my husbands favorite, the Aqua Ogo.
My girls tried their hand at the Inflatable Obstacle Course and Rock Climbing first, they also spent a lot of time on the Euro Bungee and petting the horses. Gem Mining was a ton of fun for them, you simply purchase a bag which includes the gems in a bag of dirt, you take the bag, and run them through the flowing water in your try to uncover the gems. The kids get to keep everything they find.
We did the maze as a family, you need to find all the letters in the word MAZE to finish, as you walk around, get lost and stuck eventually you’ll find the letters where you will find a hole punch to punch your card with the corresponding letter.
Hubby tried out the Aqua Ogo. This is Canada’s only Outdoor Gravity Orb. You go up a large hill (on a conveyor belt) and they zip you up inside a large plastic ball which has a bit of water inside, once zipped up, they give you a push, and down the hill you go. HE LOVED IT! You do get really wet, so be prepared!
Horeshoe Resort Adventure Park is a great place to head for summer vacation, it’s not too expensive, and the entire family will have fun…OUTDOORS! The resort also features an indoor AND outdoor pool for hotel guests, as well as a fine dining (Silks Dining Lounge) and casual dining restaurant (Crazy Horse). Both were amazing! We did the fine dining one night, dressed up and headed out to a short walk across the lot to the main building. The next night we decided to try the casual dining to grab some dessert and drinks and sit out on the patio.
Our room…Simply Amazing!
We stayed in a Premiere Slope Side Condo. The condo features two bathrooms, two bedrooms, enclosed balcony, fully equipped modern kitchen and laundry. A pullout sofa sleeper and fireplace. The room can comfortably sleep six.
Parking is always free at the resort. I highly recommend visiting Horseshoe Resort and Adventure Park, we’re going to head back at some point, we just had so much fun, and it was something a little different than we normally do.

Canada is a great place to visit, you get to go to a different country without the high cost of traveling. You do need a passport to cross the border, luckily we’re just a hop skip and a jump.
