Halloween Can Be For Adults Too!

Written by lyricsmama on September 20, 2011 – 10:43 AM -

Halloween is on the way and although most of the time, we’re looking for the perfect costumes for our kids, we sometimes forget about ourselves! Just

because we’re adults doesn’t mean we can’t have fun on Halloween too.

And this year, that’s what I plan to do, so I thought of my own sexy Halloweencostume just for myself, and what would be better than dressing up as one of my favorite Impact Knockouts Tara!

Thankfully Yandy.com was able to help me out with all of my costume accessories, since there’s not an actual Tara costume, I had to make up my own.

I started with the hair, Yandy has a wide variety of wigs to choose from for any of your costumes, and I found the perfect one that matches Tara’s hair almost to a T!  The Black and Red Fatal Beauty Wig was a perfect match!

Next it was on to the costume, in which I already have a tank top that says Knockout on it, so that was easy, but I had to find some bottoms, so I decided to purchase the Plus Size Spandex Shorts in black, as well as Fence Net Pantyhose in black.

What I needed to wear on my feet seemed to pose the most problems for me, ideally I’d had loved to have some wrestling boots, but that’s not going to happen, I couldn’t find them anywhere costume wise unless I was going to go out and buy actual wrestling boots. But hey, I wanted to look sexy more than anything, and to my surprise, I was able to find some super cute boots on Yandy for a great price! I chose to put the 4 Inch Heel Platform Lace Up Boots to good use and use them with my custome, they’re lace up, so they almost look like wrestling boots and they have a super sexy 4” heel as well.

I can’t wait to get my costume together and on for Halloween night, Yandy.com has helped me put together the perfect costume, even if it was something I made up myself!

Find your sexy Halloween costumes today and have yourself some fun on Halloween too, just visit Yandy.com to look for your Halloween Costume ideas!

The Black & Decker Ultimate Sandwich Recipe Contest meet The Piledriver!!!!

Written by lyricsmama on May 15, 2011 – 3:39 PM -

So right now, being on Nutrisystem isn’t allowing me to eat anything I want, which is a good thing, but also a bad thing when it came to thinking up the Ultimate Sandwich to be entered in the Black & Decker Ultimate Sandwich Recipe Contest. So what did I do? I turned to my hubby! I asked him, if you could have the ultimate sandwich, what would it be? And I think I made that man’s world that day….

He gave me the list of ingredients and off to the store I went. Together, we came up with The Piledriver!!!

This is probably the ultimate man sandwich, here’s the recipe….

Ingredients

  • 3 slices of calabrese bread
  • 4 Slices of oven roasted turkey breast
  • 4 slices of deli rotisserie chicken
  • 8 slices of turkey pastrami
  • 8 slices of hard salami
  • 4 slices of Colby cheese
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 4 slices of pepper jack cheese
  • Ranch Dressing
  • Hot Mustard
  • Tomato
  • Avocado
  • Lettuce
  • Cool Ranch Doritos

Directions
~ Smear Ranch Dressing on bottom slice of bread and top slice of bread, smear hot mustard on middle third slice of bread.

~ Place 2 slices of turkey breast then 2 slices of Colby cheese on top. Then layer 2 slices of rotisserie chicken and 2 slices of Swiss cheese. Layer avocado, tomato and lettuce, then top with 4 slices of turkey pastrami, 2 slices of pepper jack cheese, 4 slices of salami, 2 slices of Swiss. (or layer however you want meat/cheese doesn’t matter), then cover with a layer of Cool Ranch Doritos.

~ Place middle slice of bread hot mustard side down on top. Smear top of the bread with more hot mustard and repeat layers of meat, cheese, meat, cheese, avocado, tomato, lettuce, meat cheese, meat cheese, Cool Ranch Doritos. Place top piece of bread on top of your sandwich.

~ Place sandwich in your Black & Decker convection countertop toaster oven to toast it and get the cheese melted. (approx. 10 min).

You now have yourself THE PILEDRIVER!!!

Enjoy!

National Geographic Little Kids Magazine

Written by lyricsmama on April 14, 2010 – 1:39 PM -

The girls love to read, in fact I can find them many times picking up one of my magazines and leafing through it, looking at photos and trying to read the small print.  They’re also animal lovers.  I’ve thought a time or two about getting a subscription to some more ‘educational’ magazines, especially for the kids, but just never bothered.

However, I think the time has changed for that thanks to National Geographic.  The girls already love to watch the National Geographic channel with me when they have some great animal shows on, and now I can bring that to them via a magazine they can sit an enjoy at any time.  National Geographic now has a Little Kids Magazine.

I recently got a few copies of the National Geographic Little Kids Magazines and can say I’m quite impressed.  The first thing we noticed was the cute colorful photos on the front of the magazine, the next was the size.  They’re smaller than regular sized magazines so this is perfect for little ones to get their hands on.  Not only are the photos great, but the educational value and information the girls were able to get, and read as well was great. My 6 year old loved to read the magazines to her sister.  Also included are some fun games and cards to keep the kids a little more interactive with the magazine.

Sometimes you may think magazines, why bother when you can just hop online and see the same thing, except I think there’s a bit more value especially with the kids to have a physical thing in their hand rather than looking at a screen, and the girls enthusiasm with the magazines seem to say the same thing!

National Geographic Little Kids Magazine is aimed at children aged 3-6 so my little ones were in perfect age range for these books.  I can see my oldest enjoying these magazines for a few more years beyond 6 though.  You can get a subscription to National Geographic Little Kids Magazine by visiting their website at nationalgeographic.com, for just $15 you’ll get a one year subscription which will include 6 issues.

Hippity-Hoppity Easter’s On It’s Way….

Written by lyricsmama on March 25, 2010 – 9:26 AM -

Are you ready for Easter? The chocolate, the cute little chicks, and don’t forget the Easter bunny. Also, don’t forget about DVD’s! That’s right, why not incorporate some entertainment into your Easter day or even the days before to get your little ones ready and excited!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail has been digitally remastered so now, the TV classic that we all enjoyed can be enjoyed again by our own little ones. Featuring the voices of Vincent Price, Casey Kasem, and Danny Kaye memories will float back into your own head from your own childhood and your kids will think they’re viewing something new, at least to them.

In case you don’t remember the story yourself, Peter Cottontail wants to be the #1 chief Easter bunny in April Valley, but he’s got one arch-rival evil Irontail who doesn’t agree, can Easter be saved?

My girls just love Here Comes Peter Cottontail so much so, that my daughter even asked to take it to school and share it with her classmates, who also enjoyed this classic tale.

Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey Soundtrack

Written by lyricsmama on February 15, 2010 – 10:45 AM -

No one was more excited than my youngest daughter when we found out we were going to be getting the chance to review the Curious George 2- Follow That Monkey soundtrack.

My daughter is a huge Curious George fan, in fact, she’s basically just a monkey fan, so anything and everything that has to do with monkeys she’s happy to have in her possession, although I wasn’t too sure how she was going to react to the actual music on the soundtrack, she was just happy to see it was Curious George most of all.

The Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey Soundtrack won’t be available in stores until March 2nd which coincides with the release of the sequel to Curious George; Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey. The soundtrack features artists such as Brian Wilson, Jackie Greene and Carbon Leaf. My daughter honestly wasn’t too into the soundtrack, I’m guessing that after she sees the actual movie/DVD she’ll appreciate it a little more as she’ll be able to identify the songs with the movie.

Track Listing for Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey:

1: “Life Less Ordinary” Carbon Leaf
2: “The Friendship” Carbon Leaf
3: “California Sun” Brian Wilson
4: “On A Roll” Carbon Leaf
5: “Heart Of The Day” Carbon Leaf
6: “Let Your Troubles Roll By” Carbon Leaf
7: “Walking In The Sun” Carbon Leaf
8: “Follow That Monkey” Jackie Greene
9: “Moon Man” Heitor Pereira
10: “Going East” Heitor Pereira
11: “Giving A Hand” Heitor Pereira
12: “Zoo” Heitor Pereira
13: “Friendship” Heitor Pereira

My take, not really a CD I enjoyed either but for kids the songs are catchy and fun, like I said once my little one see’s the movie I’m sure she’ll enjoy the CD much more as she’ll have the movie to identify the songs with.

You’ll be able to purchase both the Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey Soundtrack and DVD movie in early March, but until then, you can hear some of the audio streams by visiting the 429 Records website.

One lucky reader from A Wrestling Addicted Mommy has the chance to win the Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey CD Soundtrack for themselves.

{Mandatory Entry}: Let me know if someone in your house is a fan of Curious George and what they love about him.
