Vroom Vroom I Go With The 2012 Dodge Avenger R/T
Written by lyricsmama on February 15, 2012 – 10:14 AM -Last week I got to check out something a little different than the vehicles I normally review. A vehicle that isn’t really defined as a ‘Family Vehicle’ but in my opinion surely could be.
The 2012 Dodge Avenger R/T is a sporty yet roomy midsize sedan, it was perfect for our family of 4.
With 283-horsepower, a 3.6-liter V6 Engine, this car had more power than what I was used to, and I can tell you … I loved it! Gas mileage isn’t too impressive but it’s not horrible either especially for a V6, 19/29 mpg city/highway.
The look of this vehicle is spectacular with a body colored grille and darkened headlamps, as well as a spoiler and 18” wheels. Heated cloth seats with leather trimmed bolsters inside are perfect for the winter weather we’ve finally received and the red stitching, and fabric with striped inserts are amazing. On the headrests you’ll also find a red “R/T” embroidered into them as well as a leather red stitched steering wheel.
The audio inside is great with a premium stereo 6 speaker 276 watt Boston Acoustic’s sound system as well as a touch screen for radio, navigation and more in the front. Also equip with Uconnect Voice Command with Bluetooth.
I absolutely fell in love with this car, as I said it’s different from what I normally get a chance to review and you’ll most definitely see a few more posts explaining my experience with the Dodge Avenger R/T.
MSRP $25,995

Bertolli Meal Soups Give A Quick Yummy Dinner Fix! #BertolliMealSoup
Written by lyricsmama on February 6, 2012 – 10:11 PM -I’ve been a busy lady lately, and on occasion, I just don’t want to cook! I mean thinking of what to make, defrosting the meat, cooking everything up, looking up a recipe. Some days it’s just not what I want to be doing. But, eating out isn’t always an option either, especially since I’m trying to eat healthier. But when you want a yummy, filling, quick meal, what do you do? You turn to Bertolli!
I was recently challenged by Bertolli to prepare a dinner in under one hour and doing it by
using one of their Bertolli Meal Soups.
Now I’m not one who generally buys frozen pre-made meals, so this was a challenge in itself for me, however I was willing to try. After spending a few minutes in the freezer aisle trying to figure out which Bertolli Meal Soup sounded good, I finally decided on the Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken. It looked pretty good and although there were other varieties such as Chicken Minestrone, Roasted Chicken & Rotini Pasta, and Tuscan-style Beef & Vegetables, the Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken sounded the best to me, so in the cart it went.
Now, what would I do to make this a great dinner in under an hour? I figured I’d grab another frozen Bertolli Meal to pair it with. The Bertolli Chicken Florentine & Farfalle Complete Skillet Meal.
I got home and got right to making dinner. Although I still had to cook it, it was really quick and not something I had to take a lot of time to prepare. The soup was very easy to get started, grab a pot, open the package pour it into the pot and add some water. Once it boils you reduce it to a
simmer, stir it up and your ready! The soup took less than 20 minutes to finish cooking, and it smelled amazing!
While I was waiting on the soup to boil I also started up the Bertoilli Chicken Florentine & Farfalle Complete Skillet Meal. Again another easy task, all I had to do was grab a skillet, pour in the bag and stir a few times. In about 10 minutes it was a finished meal!
Honestly I was pretty impressed with the meals. Especially for frozen ones! My daughters ate up the Bertolli Chicken Florentine & Farfalle and even asked for seconds. Although it was a meal for 2 it fed them twice with a little left over. My favorite was the Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken Meal Soup. Its
definitely a meal, and a great one at that! The tomato base was nice and thick and the tortellini cooked up amazing, not mushy at all which I was afraid of. Again being a meal for two there was definitely room for a few bowls of it between the two of us. The soup was amazingly hearty and filling with a great taste!
A full, hearty, healthy meal in under one hour….
You can find Bertolli Meal Soups in the freezer aisle at your local grocery store, we found ours at Walmart, priced for under $6.00.
Although I was a skeptic at first, I was very happy with how the Bertolli meals came out, these will definitely be in my freezer for a quick fix for dinner!
You can find more information about Bertolli and their Meal Soups or other products by visiting them on Facebook, Following them on Twitter, or just by visiting their website at villabertolli.com.

GoalForIt – Chore Charts, Goal Settings, Behavior Charts and more
Written by lyricsmama on January 10, 2012 – 9:53 AM -I’ll tell you what…I’m BUSY! Since the girls are both in school now, it seems I’m busier than ever, I thought I’d have all this time on my hands, but I find that I’ve gotten myself into more things now than ever, which means sometimes my house gets put on the back burner.
Just the other day, I had a huge blow up on my hubby and kids about helping out around the house. Sure, the blow up on everyone worked for like a day and everyone chipped in, but beyond that, it’s back to normal. I NEED HELP and have to figure out a way to do it.
We’ve tried reward systems, chore charts etc. and like my blow up, it works for a little while and then fails because either I don’t keep up with it, (because again, it’s something else I have to do) or no one else in the house keeps up with it…My Kids! It’s been a while since we’ve done the chore chart route again, so I’m thinking since they’re a little older now, maybe it will work again, it’s worth a try.
GoalForIt.com provides FREE chore charts for young kids, tweens and even teens. You can create your own personalized chart in just a few minutes and use it either online, or print one off. Not only do they provide chore charts, but their charts also can help children understand and correct behavior by using a behavior chart, or learn lessons like money management.
GoalForIt.com also provides you with an optional reward system which can help you give additional positive reinforcements which allows kids to earn points. You can also create To-Do Lists, and Goal Setting Lists. GoalForIt.com has a lot of great features all in one place instead of you having to take out more time to Google each thing you’d like to find.
You can use the personalized chore charts to help get your kids excited and involved by having them help you create their own chart. You can even share their chore chart with others if you’d like, maybe with Grandma online, that way everyone can keep track of how well (or not so well) the kids are doing with their daily routines.
GoalForIt.com is really fun and I love the fact that they provide so much and it’s FREE! For more information or to create your own chart, visit goalforit.com.
