It’s Wrestlemania Week!!! #WWEMoms Twitter Party #WWE #Stars4Sandy #Wrestlemania #WM29
Written by lyricsmama on April 3, 2013 – 11:22 AM -Right now, I’m on spring break…Vacation!! However, we’re making sure that we’re home in time for Wrestlemania 29 on Sunday. We’ll be packing up and hitting the road early so we can be sure to be back in time and not miss A THING!
Wrestlemania is always a big occasion at my house, we do it up! Special drinks, and food, in honor of an amazing night of wrestling. Previous years, I’ve even gone to a huge party, or watched it at one of the local theaters FULL of wrestling fans, such a fun experience if you can’t be there live. I myself have been to two Wrestlemania’s and can’t wait to get back.
This year, Wrestlemania 29 is on Sunday April 7, 2013 and will be hosted in New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium. Our plan was to make it there this year, but unfortunately that wish wasn’t able to come true. Maybe next year!
As usual, there’s plenty of events going on through the week and weekend before Wrestlemania for those who can be in the area, or who are maybe going themselves. The events are not to be missed, you definitely don’t get this experience all the time so if you can get to any of them, it’s a must for a wrestling fan. One year I was able to go bowling with some of the WWE Superstars, it was an amazing experience, one I’ll never forget.
Here’s a list of events going on all week this year for Wrestlemania 29, for more information on any of the activities and events, you can visit wwe.com:

My Girls Take Part In The Wrestlemania Reading Challenge, Yours Can Too!! #WWEMoms #WWE
Written by lyricsmama on February 27, 2013 – 10:36 AM -Both of my girls love to read, they have so many books its unbelievable, but I never complain about the number of books in our home, books are a great thing to own!! Kids today don’t always get to read as much as they should, with the million other distractions they have. My kids sometimes are guilty of this as well, that’s why, as a part of their ‘chores’ they must read at least 30 minutes a day.
When I first heard of the WWE Wrestlemania Reading Challenge, I thought we’d be the perfect family to join in on the fun, especially my girls, who are also avid wrestling fans. Any kids ages 4 through 11 can take part in the reading challenge, and they don’t’ even have to find their own books or new books to read.
Super impressed that because of the WWE’s partnership with the Pearson Foundation’s digital reading initiative, We Give Books, those taking part in the challenge can read the books online! When first going to the website WWEReadingSuperstar.com kids can pick their favorite WWE Superstar as their reading buddy. Parents then must sign up with their email and give consent that you are allowing your children to participate.
There’s a huge selection of books for all readers. When my daughters were able to pick their reading buddy, they of course picked Kofi Kingston, one of their favorites since they’ve met him on numerous occasions. The first book they chose to read was Lady Bug Girl And The Bug Squad.
Once they finished reading, they get a video from their reading buddy to watch, as well as an achievement certificate and belt.
During the countdown weeks to Wrestlemania, WWE and their Superstars will also be hosting reading celebrations, and visiting schools across the country to spread the word about the importance of reading. Each celebration will also feature special visits from the We Give Books ReadMobile.
To support the Pearson Foundation’s mission, WWE will make a contribution to children on behalf of We Give Books to provide book grants to schools across the country. We Give Books is a major effort by the Penguin Group and the Pearson Foundation to equip families, classrooms and libraries with print and online books for children. Every time someone reads a children’s book online at wegivebooks.org, the Pearson Foundation donates a book to a child who needs it. WWE will also utilize all its assets, including TV broadcasts, live events, digital and social media to encourage children to read.
Not only will your kids get the knowledge and importance of reading during the WWE Wrestlemaia Reading Challenge but they’ll also be able to enter to win a trip to WrestleMania 29 or a school visit from a WWE Superstar.
For more information or to participate in the WrestleMania Reading Challenge, visit WWEReadingSuperstar.com.

WWE TAKE THE WRESTLEMANIA READING CHALLENGE ONLINE #WWEMoms
Written by lyricsmama on February 1, 2013 – 12:47 AM -
WWE and the Pearson Foundation announced a partnership to expand WWE’s WrestleMania Reading Challenge and promote the importance of literacy through a new digital reading program.
Beginning February 4, 2013, students between the ages of 4 and 11 will have the opportunity to join the WrestleManiaReading Challenge at WWEReadingSuperstar.com. Through this new partnership with the Pearson Foundation’s digital reading initiative, We Give Books, students will be able to read children’s books online, virtually connect with WWE Superstar Reading Buddies and enter to win a trip to WrestleMania 29 or a school visit from a WWE Superstar.
WWE and its Superstars will also host reading celebrations, visiting kids at local schools across the country, to spread the word about the importance of reading with children at an early age. The celebrations will include special visits from the We Give Books ReadMobile.
“Reading should be a fundamental part of growing up and sharing the love of reading and the power of giving is what We Give Books is all about,” said Pearson Foundation President and CEO Mark Nieker. “Through this important partnership with WWE, we hope to reach more children and their families with the message of reading, giving and sharing.”
“WWE is proud to expand its commitment to literacy initiatives through this new partnership with the Pearson Foundation and We Give Books,” said Michelle D. Wilson, Chief Marketing Officer, WWE. “Given that today’s youth are digitally connected at such an early age, the WrestleMania Reading Challenge will now reach more children than ever before.”
Studies show that nothing is more important to a child’s overall success than reading at grade level by third grade. Developing early literacy skills sets a child up for success in school and life.
