#WWEMoms The New Day Sends A Special Message To A Fan #WWEToledo

Written by lyricsmama on June 25, 2015 – 1:07 PM -

This past Tuesday I was lucky enough to be sent to WWE Smackdown as a member of the WWEMoms. Like I always say at most events, if you’ve never been to a LIVE WWE show, it’s a must. If you’re not a fan, it will make you one, and if you are a fan, it will make you an even bigger one.

This time I wasn’t just taking my family, but was bringing a friend of mine and his 92 year old mother (Alice Boraby). We were so excited to take her. 92 years old, has been a WWE Fan forever and has NEVER been to a live event! As excited as I was to attend the event, I was even more excited to give her this opportunity to see WWE live and in person.

Her son, Naeem Boraby had told me in the past how big of a fan she was. She highlighted her TV guide for every WWE show that was coming on the air, and would always tell him he could go into another room or home when WWE was on.

New Day Socks

Tuesday morning, as I was making our New Day signs and T-Shirts for Smackdown, I got the text that she wasn’t going to be able to make it to the show. She was in Hospice and they wouldn’t allow her permission to leave to go to the show. He was upset, I was upset, my family was upset, I was so looking forward to hanging out with her at a WWE event. She was upset as well and so looking forward to going….. Then….. We see this…….

You can read the entire story on 13abc.com.

Hospice had got a hold of the news station, and The New Day were doing a lot of media that day heading to all of the TV stations in the area. I was so THRILLED beyond belief that they took the time out to send her a personal message. The power of positivety is great, and to see my favorite wrestlers going above and beyond to make a 92 year old fans day special, even though she couldn’t attend will be forever in my heart, and makes me love them even more than I already do.

So, to 13ABC, The New Day and the WWE, thank you so much for doing this for her, we are forever grateful, and she was thrilled beyond belief.  I can only hope to be around at 92 years old and STILL be a WWE Fan!  Mrs. Boraby, I hope you’re feeling better soon, and maybe we can take you to the next event in town!

This is why I love the WWE, they’re more than just entertainment, they’re about their fans, they’re about their community! Big thanks to The New Day @XavierWoodsPHD, @TrueKofi and @WWEBigE.

Take Time To Be A Dad Today with WWE’s Titus O’Neil & WWEMoms – Twitter Party

Written by lyricsmama on June 15, 2015 – 11:29 AM -

Take Time To Be A Dad Today

I’m always excited to be a panelist for our WWEMoms Twitter parties, we have so much fun, and always bring awareness to other aspects of the WWE besides entertainment and wrestling.

This month, as Father’s day approaches we’re going to host a special WWEMoms and WWEDads Twitter party with special guest (my boyfriend 😉 ) Titus O’Neil!

Titus O'Neil Take Time To Be A Dad Today

Titus is half of the Prime Time Players Tag Team, and now Tag Team Champion (which I have a beef with because that was my other ‘boyfriends’ title 😉 )! Titus is also a great Father to two boys, who if you follow his Twitter and Instagram accounts, you can see the love he has for his boys and family as a whole.

This Thursday June 18th at 7pm ET join myself @wrestlingaddict along with @WWEMoms, @TitusOneilWWE, Rowena Patrick, Vice President, Campaign Director, @AdCouncil and David Miller, Social Media Manager @Fatherhoodgov as we discuss responsible Fatherhood and the various resources available at Fatherhood.gov!

Last year you may have seen WWE Superstars Titus O’Neil and Roman Reigns videos for the Ad Council. Again WWE has joined the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families’ office of Family Assistance, the National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse, and the Ad Council to help inspire dads throughout the country to get involved in their childrens lives, and to encourage dads to recognize their role and give them resources to get them more involved.

The campaign communicates to fathers that their presence is essential to their children’s well-being and emphasizes that “the smallest moments can have the biggest impact on a child’s life.”

Come join us for this special Twitter Event and celebrate Fatherhood!

You must RSVP first, and then attend to be eligible to have a chance to win some great prizes!

(Click here to learn more about our Twitter chats. You must RSVP and attend the party to be eligible for a prize.)

Email RSVP@theonlinemom.com (subject line: WWEmoms) and include your Twitter ID

Spread the word and RT post into your twitter feed.

Join us on TweetDeck or HootSuite (#WWEmoms) on Thursday, June 18 between 7 – 8 pm ET

Tell your Twitter followers! PRIZE WINNERS will be announced during the Party!

The World Lost A Great Man – R.I.P Dusty Rhodes

Written by lyricsmama on June 11, 2015 – 2:45 PM -

As I just woke up from a nap, trying to get rid of my damn headache, I came upon the news that Dusty Rhodes had passed away.  This is a shocker, and so sad.

To those who may not know, about Dusty’s long career Dusty Rhodes ( Virgil Runnels ) is not only a WWE Hall Of Famer, but has held the NWA Championship 3 times, and has had various job titles within WWE, he is also the father of (Dustin Runnels) and Stardust (Cody Runnels).

WWE News, John Cena and upcoming Toledo Smackdown Show #WWEMoms

Written by lyricsmama on June 10, 2015 – 12:37 PM -

Lots going on with WWE during the summer months. Not only do we have some great Pay Per Views to look forward to (that you can catch for just $9.99USD on WWE Network) but there’s lots of community events and celebrations for WWE as well.

First off, two weeks ago you may have noticed John Cena calling out a young fan in the crowd. Now we all know it’s no secret that I’m not a huge Cena fan by any means, but this guy is simply AWESOME as a person! A little boy in the audience for RAW was holding up a sign that said, “I’m Beating Cancer”. During a live TV segment, John Cena in the ring stood up and said: “If I say or if I wear the words ‘Never Give Up’, not only am I telling the truth, but I am encouraging young and old, all alike, like that person right there, to do the exact same thing”. He did this, while pointing to the little boy with the sign, the look on his face was amazing, and it was amazing for Cena to go out of his way, off script on live TV to do this!

After RAW went off the air, Cena took that boy and invited him into the ring and draped the United States Championship belt over his shoulder!

How amazing for someone that this kid probably looks up to, showed that he was not the hero, that the little boy was more of a hero than John Cena would ever be! This is what WWE is all about, this is why we promote WWE so much, this is what makes me love John Cena the person.

WWE also recently announced that they had surpassed half a billion social media fans! Their WWE Facebook Page alone has more fans than the NFL, ESPN, Marvel, Google and UFC. WWE via Twitter has more followers than MLB, Disney, Sony and Pepsi. According to Klout WWE is the No. 1 most influential brand on Twitter. WWE’s Instagram has more followers than ESPN, HBO, NHL and Gatorate, their YouTube channel has nearly 5 billion views and is the NO. 1 sports channel ahead of the NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, ESPN and NASCAR!
Congrats WWE!!!

WWE Tough Enough is also set to air soon (June 23) on USA Network. Last night on RAW, WWE and USA Network revealed the 40 finalists chosen from more than 11,100 fan submissions via WWEToughEnough.com. These 40 finalists will have to go through a WWE Tough Enough Mini-Camp that will take place at the WWE Performance Center which will then lead to another cut, where there will be an announcement of the final 13 contestants. You will be able to view the journey of the final 40 on WWE Network for the Tough Enough Competition Special which will air Tuesday June 16 at 8/7C.

I’m excited that I’ll get the chance to see WWE live once again as they head to Toledo for a Smackdown taping! This will be a special event though, I won’t be doing my usual stalking pre-show as I have a very special guest coming to the event with me. My good friend has a mother who just LOVES WWE, and has for MANY years! She’s a die hard fan, who never misses a show, yet she’s never been to a live event, and she’s 90 years old! I’m so happy to get the opportunity to bring her along with my family for her first EVER WWE show! It’s going to be so exciting! Tickets are still available for WWE Smackdown at The Huntington Center, they start at just $15. You can get your tickets by visiting ticketmaster.com, and if you see me there SAY HI!!! I’ll be the loud one cheering for New Day with my New Day Socks T-Shirt!
