When it comes to feeding our kids, we all do what we can, we make sure they have nurishment and that they are in fact fed. We’d give up almost anything not to see our babies go hungry. Sometimes, as new moms, that means not being able to breastfeed. I for one, was not able to.
When my first daughter was born, I wasn’t sure I wanted to breastfeed, but when she came, I instantly changed my mind. However, my body wouldn’t co-operate. She was eating, or what it looked like was eating, but she kept losing weight. We tried pumping, but that didn’t work, I just wasn’t producing enough milk, no matter what I tried. So, onto the formula we went!
When my second daughter was born, we tried again, but with the same issues, I just couldn’t produce enough milk for them no matter what. So another formula fed baby.
I can tell you, the first one, it was hard, I felt like a bad mom, I felt like I couldn’t provide for my daughter, but I got over that, she was being fed, and that’s all that mattered! My second one, I was disappointed but again, she was being fed and nourished and cared for, I was doing what I was supposed to be doing. Enfamil Formula was helping me do what I was doing.
It’s often hard to hear stories of new moms who are anguished over the fact that they can’t breastfeed, and then to see other moms who get bashed for not breastfeeding. Fact is, we’re all doing our best, we all need to feed our child. We do what we have to do to make sure our children are growing.
As moms, we do have a duty to research what we’re giving our child. There are so many resources online now to find information about things, and yes, that includes formula. You can do some research about Safe Infant Formula online and find what you should be looking for.
Another question with feeding our babies formula, is how much is enough, how much is too much. Find a portion guide for baby’s first year to help you out.
To all mom’s out there, know, that you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing, no matter what the choice, as long as you’re making one, you’re doing the right thing for your child, and that’s feeding them to make sure they grow!

Summer is officially over, and it’s back to school for just about everyone now. Why pack boring old lunches for the kiddos? Get creative, have some fun, and keep it healthy with these fun ideas and recipes below…
PLAY WITH COOKIE CUTTERS
Cookie and fondant cutters are like the Swiss Army knife of lunch packing. They’re quick, easy to handle, and endlessly versatile. Use them to instantly upgrade fruits and veggies, or to add panache to an otherwise boring sandwich. With so many cute ones out there, it’s easy to go overboard, but with a little imagination, one cutter can produce multiple shapes without taking up much space in your kitchen. Three great ones to start with are a heart, a flower, and a snail cutter. Look what we could make with just a few of these basics!
FLOWER-SHAPED CUTTER – Make the classic shape into these cheesy owl eyes, or slice each cutout in half and layer over Nutella to make clouds. Cut the “petals” like a pie to make raindrops.
SNAIL CUTTER – A snail makes a great cheese sandwich, or flip it the other way for a honeydew whale. Even cooler: Cut out the middle to create a cheese letter A.
HEART-SHAPED CUTTER – This shape takes flight as wings for a dragonfly or birdie.
CONJURE A CHARACTER
If the idea of re-creating a movie or TV character is daunting, take a minimalist approach and make something symbolic that’s still recognizable. Here we used Mini Babybel cheese and grape fruit leather to make a Pokémon ball; a zigzagged slice of cheese on pumpernickel creates Charlie Brown’s shirt; and zucchini glasses with a red bell pepper lightning bolt reminds kids of Harry Potter.
Sausage and sautéed zucchini show their whimsical side thanks to fun food picks. $3 for 8; bentology.net
STICK IT ON A SKEWER
Skewers are all the rage on Pinterest, but they can get cumbersome and pokey for pint-size palates. Use smaller, more kid-friendly alternatives, such as reusable food picks, or ice-pop or lollipop sticks, and pair them with some unexpected lunchtime fare!
BAKE IN A MOLD
It’s easy to craft butterflies, stars, flowers, and more from food—with the help of silicone bakeware. Buy a few different styles, and then whip up a bunch of freezer-friendly muffins, frittatas, and granola bites to have on hand when inspiration (or time!) is low. Here, three recipes to try.
1. EASY FRITTATAS
Preheat oven to 350°F. Whisk together 6 eggs, ¼ cup milk, ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese, ¼ cup chopped veggies, and salt and pepper. Pour into muffin cups, filling about ¾ full. Bake 18 to 20 minutes.
2. PUMPKIN-SPICE MUFFINS
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease baking molds with coconut oil. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups flour, 1 heaping Tbs. pumpkin pie spice, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. baking powder, and ½ tsp. salt. In a separate bowl, mix together 1 can pumpkin puree, ½ cup honey, a 5.3-oz. container plain Greek yogurt, 2 large eggs, and 6 Tbs. melted coconut oil. Pour wet ingredients into the flour mixture; stir to combine. Transfer batter to molds. Bake 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the size; check using a toothpick.
3. NO-BAKE GRANOLA BITES
Melt ¼ cup coconut oil, ¼ cup raw honey, and ¼ tsp. salt in a saucepan over medium heat. When it bubbles and foams, turn heat to low. Add 1½ cups rolled oats, 1 cup chopped nuts, ¼ cup ground flaxseed, and cook on low for 2 minutes, stirring to coat. Pour granola into the mold; press in firmly. Cool at room temperature for an hour; remove and add toppings if desired. (We dipped them in melted dark chocolate and yogurt chips and then added coconut flakes and freeze-dried fruit pieces.) Store in an airtight container.

So, here it is…I’ve been on this new fitness journey for a while, and workout clothes are normally just some capri’s and an oversized t-shirt, normally you’ll find me in a WWE shirt of some sort. But as the journey goes, I’ve been trying to find some cute pieces to wear to the gym and my workouts.
WWE recently released that they had teamed up with Tapout for fitness gear, excited as HECK!! The WWE women had been wearing some super cute Tapout outfits in the ads, and in photo shoots, I couldn’t wait to get some. Finally, after weeks and weeks of being upset that there was no women’s gear, WWE announced that JC Penny’s would FINALLY have gear available for women!! Unless you live where I do, and as I ran out that day, my store doesn’t carry it. So, sad. I tried to order online, but my size was sold out with the pieces I wanted. Devastated!!! I’m sure I’ll get some pieces soon, I hope. But my sadness was turned into joy when I was just about to embark to New York City for the weekend, to check something off my bucket list.
I was invited to go workout at the Tapout Fitness Center in New York with none other than some of the WWE Total Divas! This would be a DREAM come true. So, off I went, on a weekend away and excited as heck for this workout.
We arrived at the Tapout Fitness Center and were greeted by the Tapout center staff, who were very nice and accommodating. The center itself was a few floors high, and the equipment available, I wanted to play on all of it, but it was all pushed to the side to make room for this amazing workout.
Mats setup, gliders, dumbbells, water bottles, towels and we picked our spot, of course, I had to run right to the front of the gym.
We would be working out with WWE Superstars Renee Young, Alicia Fox, Natalya, Naomi, Lana, Summer Rae, Alexa Bliss and special guest Maria Menounos who would be talking to us about fitness and her new books about her journey of losing 40 lbs.
Maria Menounos talked a lot about her struggle with nutrition and fitness and now has 2 books available for purchase The Everygirl’s Guide to Cooking and The Everygirl’s Guide to Diet and Fitness. Both books are great, and the recipes are amazing, a must have to add to your collection.
If you noticed, all of the WWE Women were also wearing some super cute Tapout gear! You can purchase outfits online or by visiting your nearest JC Penny’s.
I have been compensated for this post as I participate in the WWEmoms campaign – all opinions expressed here are my own.
