Seriously, because that’s where I’m at right now. I don’t want to give up, but I’m feeling like I should just throw in the towel and forget about it.
I have a goal, I want to finally reach that goal, but it’s hard to see a light at the end of the tunnel when you’re not moving forwards, but rather backwards.
I’ve been doing well, staying within my Macros for my food, exercising at least 5 times a week, sometimes twice a day. I’m listening to my trainer, but I’m just not seeing results. I was, don’t get me wrong, but this week has me discouraged more than most.
While I was on vacation, I measured, didn’t see the measurements I was hoping for, in fact, they went up rather than down. We were stuck in Arizona because of that whole Southwest Airlines debacle, so I ended up having to weigh myself during vacation as well, on a scale, that wasn’t mine. Scary in itself, but, according to that scale, I had lost 7lbs. I was HAPPY! Super HAPPY! Knowing in the back of my mind, that yes, it could be wrong, but I was rolling with it. Heck, I even WORKED OUT while on vacation! Stayed within my food, everything. The only thing I struggled on was water..
Next week was measurements, and they were good. I wasn’t happy with them once again, but big surprise. I’m working SO HARD on this, I want to see better results faster. But alas, the boss (my trainer) said I was right on track and doing awesome. So, happy with the results I will be. Here’s the latest progress….
This week though, this week, I feel down, I feel discouraged, I feel like giving up. I don’t know if it’s PMS or what…But, I keep thinking, what is the point in working so hard for this, when I gain weight?!?!?! Bootcamp 2-3 times a week, gym at least 3 times a week, and like I said, sometimes twice a day. My food, probably could be better, but I’m still working on it, I’m eating what I’m supposed to be eating, I’m staying within my macros, I’m drinking my water. What more can I do? Maybe I’m just determined to be fat, ugly and unmotivated. Maybe I should give up.
This week I got a new scale to do a review on, which will be coming up soon, because I am NOT happy with the scale. It made me cry, yes the scale made me cry. It was 10lbs over what I last weighed myself as. 10 lbs in 2 weeks? REALLY?!?!?! So, I took out my old, usual scale that I normally weigh myself on. Yup, still up, 4 lbs. What the HELL is going on?????? PMS? I’m just a fatty fat fat? I see my trainer this afternoon, and I don’t even want to give him the news that I’ve apparently gained 4lbs in 2 weeks, sure it’s better than gaining 10, but I shouldn’t be gaining anything!!! And no, it’s not muscle, that’s entirely impossible to gain 4lbs of muscle in 2 weeks….
I’m discouraged and I don’t know what to do…..run, hide, give up? My new mantra is supposed to be Never Give Up, but right now, that’s the hardest thing in the world NOT to do….. I keep trying to tell myself it’s not all about the numbers on the scale, and it really isn’t, and my trainer has told me a million times I’ll see ups and downs, but for whatever reason, this really has ME down…

With summer winding down, I don’t know about you, but we have a lot of birthday’s coming up, and then the holidays, things seem to get way more hectic and expensive after summer break is over. My oldest daughter had a big birthday coming up in September, she’ll be turning 13!!! Where did the time go?!?! Teens are HARD to buy for, they stick their nose up at most things, or get overly excited at the dumbest things, gifts are HARD to find for a teen!
Sometimes though, it’s not the teens that are the hardest to find a gift for, take for instance my father. His birthday just recently passed and I had no idea what to get him, so where did I go? I decided to try out Groupon and see what they had available, which was perfect! With Groupon Goods I could find an experience/activity for him, or a dinner for him and mom to go out to, it was the perfect place to find a gift for him, easy, and quick, and didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.
I’m thinking Groupon might be the best bet to find my daughter a gift too. The prices are great and I can get her anything from headphones to video games, horseback riding lessons to a waterpark weekend. I think she’d really enjoy getting something a little different this year and a weekend away might be the most fun for her. Maybe that, and a video game, because lord knows if she doesn’t get one she might turn into the demon spawn of 13 year olds!
Groupon Goods is my go to place for gifts for others as well as just shopping for myself, saving money with Groupon is on the top of my shopping list! You can follow Groupon on Facebook and Twitter as well to find some great deals!

Connor’s Cure was created by Stephanie McMahon and Paul Lavesque as a fund to help the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburg Foundation that supports pediactric brain and spinal cord cancer research. You can learn more about Connor’s Cure here. This past year, WWE and The V Foundation partnered up to expend Connor’s Cure outside of just the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburg Foundation and now supports pediatric cancer research nationally.

PHOENIX (July 18, 2016) – Ten years and more than 50 wishes later, Make-A-Wish and ESPN celebrate the 10th anniversary of the My Wish series on SportsCenter. The series, which started in 2006, showcases the life-changing interactions that take place when athletes grant the one true wish for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
From international icons and gold medalists to hall of famers and MVPs, the series has documented wish kids meeting some of the most distinguished athletes of all time. This summer will be no different as new, inspirational stories will be shown on SportsCenter throughout the week of July 17. In addition, to commemorate the 10th anniversary, ESPN will launch a special website, espn.com/mywish, for an in depth look at the impact the series – and the wishes – have had on the athletes, wish families and communities involved throughout the last decade.
The series kicked off on Sunday, July 17, with a special piece developed specifically for the 10th anniversary. Then, each night from July 18-21, SportsCenter will reveal a different, life-changing wish experience, culminating in a compilation feature on July 22. Athletes featured in this year’s series include: NBA champion and two-time league MVP Steph Curry, three-time NFL defensive player of the year JJ Watt, the 2015 World Cup champion U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team and 2015 National League MVP and three-time MLB All-Star Bryce Harper.
As he has in every prior year, Emmy-award winning reporter Chris Connelly will once again lend his incredible knack for storytelling to the series as the correspondent.
“Every year, we witness how sick kids internalize the toughness and determination that professional athletes display on a nightly basis,” said Connelly. “When wish kids meet their favorite athletes and teams, they are empowered to stay strong and positive no matter what health obstacles come their way.”
“The ‘My Wish’ series gives the public a glimpse into the life-altering wish experiences that take place on average every 35 minutes somewhere in the country,” said David Williams, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America. “We know these wishes forever change the wish kids and families involved, and they would not be possible without the generosity of donors and supporters like ESPN.”
Make-A-Wish extends its thanks to Disney and ESPN for their support of the “My Wish” series, and for their help in creating these incredible wish experiences. Beyond assisting with this year’s series, Disney – which owns ESPN – has been a steadfast friend of Make-A-Wish for 36 years and has helped the organization grant more than 100,000 Disney-related wishes, including the first official wish in 1980.
